The government has issued it's response to the STRB, and whilst they have moved to a starting salary of £30,000 they have not added on 8% to every level.  In fact they've flattened it considerably.  Details are below for Inner London.  We will now have to wait and see whether the STRB takes the Union's advice, the Government's advice, or something in between.
